2026 Games Format


Each team is guaranteed 6 games.


ROUND ROBIN (RR) (Monday - Thursday)

  • Each team plays 4 RR games, Monday through Thursday.
  • The RR establishes seeding for the remainder of the tournament.
  • The top 12 teams advance to the play-in/playoffs.

NOTE... For all games after round robin, the higher seed is always the home team.


PLAY-INS, PLAYOFFS & CONSOLATIONS (Friday)

Play-ins

  • Each team seeded 5th through 12th will play 1 play-in game to determine which 4 of these 8 teams will move on to the quarter finals (QFs).

Consolations

  • Each team seeded 13th through 15th will play 1 consolation game on Friday.
  • The lowest seeded team that lost in the play-in will play 1 consolation game Friday.
  • No OT play. Tie games result in an automatic 3-player shootout followed by a sudden death shoot-out.

Quarter-Finals (QFs)

  • The team seeded 1st from the round robin plays the lowest seeded remaining team which won in their respective play-in game. 
  • The team seeded 2nd from the round robin plays the 2nd lowest seeded remaining team which won in their respective play-in game. 
  • The team seeded 3rd from the round robin plays the 2nd highest seeded remaining team which won in their respective play-in game.
  • The team seeded 4th from the round robin plays the highest seeded remaining team which won in their respective play-in game.

PLAYOFFS, CONSOLATIONS & ALL-STAR GAME (Saturday)

Consolations

  • The team seeded 13th plays 1 consolation game versus the loser of game 35 (Friday).
  • The 2nd lowest seeded team which lost its play-in game on Friday plays the winner of game 35.
  • The highest seeded team that lost in the play-in will play 1 consolation game versus the 2nd highest seeded team that lost in the play-in.
  • No OT play. Tie games result in automatic 3-player shootout (SO), followed by a sudden death SO.

Semi-Finals (SFs)
The four remaining teams that won in the QFs play off in 2 SF games.

  • The highest seed remaining from the QF's plays the lowest seed remaining.
  • The 2nd highest seed remaining from the QF's plays the 2nd lowest seed remaining.

All-Star Game (4:30pm, Saturday)
Selected tournament players will compete in the War For The Roses All-Star Game.

  • No OT play. A tie game results in an automatic 9-player shootout (SO), followed by a sudden death SO.
  • Goalies must switch after 3 shots. All 3 all star goalies on each team participates.
  • No player can shoot twice until all team members have taken a shot.
  • If SO goes to sudden death, each goalie rotates in for a shot.

CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL GAME & CLOSING CEREMONIES  (Sunday)

10:00AM
Championship Final

The two remaining teams play off in the championship final game.

11:30AM (Approximate)
Closing Ceremonies/Awards

The Closing Ceremonies take place immediately after completion of the Championship Final Game.
